Making drama and experiencing theatre is a part of being human. Drama & theatre offer us a means of creative exploration, expression and the making of shared meanings and aesthetic experiences. Through these, we learn what it means to be a human with passion and compassion. Drama and Theatre have now gained a much stronger position in the society as a medium to reach to a wider audience.

Aveksha, the Theatre Society of University School of Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, has been winning accolades ever since it established itself as an association. It is accredited as one of the most functional cultural societies of the University. Its production this year is on ‘stereotypes’ as a catastrophe to a flourishing society, which may not seem as important a social evil as it really is. However, it actually is a deep and cureless societal bug which tends to embroil all of us in its vicious circle, sooner or later. And the only solution to this is a ‘Soch Badlo’ initiative within oneself in order to head towards a better society espousing an unbiased fellowship.

With a perspective to put forth these ideas, Aveksha has stepped into the streets once again and only four performances old, this year’s production has already bagged 1st prizes at both, Fore School of Management and Apeejay University and 2nd prize at Bharti Vidya Peeth.

However, one of the most important achievements of Aveksha, this year, as a cultural society, known for its ‘Nukkad Natak’ or ‘Street Play’ group, is the establishment of its own ‘Stage Play’ group which has already started off with a bang and is expected to reach great heights in the near future.
